I just love it when I come across new products with an unbelievable selling price and that actually work! Boy was it a bonus when I finally walked into The Abnormal Beauty Company’s new store in my local mall.
It took me about 2 months too long to finally get the courage to venture into the store as I thought it was going to be out of my budget. You know those ones that have all their products spaced out where it looks like there in nothing in there, yea that’s what I mean.
I walked in and my jaw immediately dropped!
This Canadian brand falls under the umbrella of a larger company called DECIEM. DECIEM (Latin for 10) has 10 brands that have a range of products from skin care, hair care to even supplements. What makes The Abnormal Beauty Company unique is that they have been able to create products using cutting edge technology containing active ingredients that are sold at very affordable prices. The headquarters is located in downtown Toronto where the products are created, designed, tested and manufactured which contributes to the low prices. Not to mention the sales, marketing, administration and logistics are also done in the same building. The founder, Brandon Truaxe, is truly a genius for that!
I purchased a few products and I would like to share my feedback with all of you. Mind you I will be updating this post every time I test out a new product.
Alpha Arbutin 2% + ha – Brightens, treats & prevents pigmentation
I have just recently got into using serums (yes I know I have been MISSING OUT!) but it is now a staple in my skincare routine. This is the second serum I have used and I must say this one is by far my favourite! Although I have oily skin I am also SUPER sensitive. If I don’t treat any blemishes that pop up with care…they will scar. As I mentioned in my skincare routine post I had been using apple cider vingear to help lighten any hyper pigmentation/ scars which have slowly worked but this bad boy right here…I see the results a lot faster! My skin has become more even and even a slight glow.
Natural Moisturizing Factors + ha – Hydration
I compare this moisturizer to Dermalogica Skin Smoothing moisturizer and Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation. Both moisturizers I have stuck to for a very long time as it didn’t cause any irritation or cause me to break out, although it did break my pockets at times. I am finicky when it comes to trying new moisturizers so once I find one that works for me I stick to it. Maybe I was feeling adventurous when I walked into the store because I picked up the Natural Moisturizing Factors without any hesitation. It is very light but keeps me moisturized throughout the day. If you have used either of the moisturizers that I have mentioned above then you will enjoy this just as much for a fraction of the price.
High-Spreadability Fluid Primer – Silicone Based
It is a serum-like consistency, ultra light feel, and goes on super smooth. I have only tried this primer with The Ordinary foundation but it blurred my pores and made my face into a perfect canvas. My makeup also lasted ALL night long and I was not gleaming like a disco ball. TBH, I have nothing negative to say about it other than a little goes a long way.
Serum Foundation – Light Coverage
I always grab a medium-full coverage foundation because who doesn’t want to have “perfect” skin? Since coming back from vacation I am clearly a lot darker than the foundations I have and I didn’t want to spend $50 on a new one just to wear it for a few weeks. A waste of money if you ask me. I seen that their foundations started at $6.90 (YASSSS SIX DOLLARS AND NINETY CENTS!!) so I just had to pick one up. The associate did a swatch on me and I just fell in love right away. Not only did it match my skin PERFECTLY but it was very light weight, almost skin like. It stayed on all day and worked well with the other makeup products that I used and especially pairs with the primer. Not to mention they 21 shades that cater to pink, yellow and neutral undertones.
